Allocated Bullion Exchange
The Allocated Bullion Exchange (ABX) is the wholesale marketplace for allocated precious metals that underpins the Kinesis Money system. It’s Kinesis’ primary partner.
ABX manages the physical bullion backing KAU and KAG, handling the physical side of Kinesis’ ecosystem, while the digital infrastructure handles their issuance, transfer, trading and payments. ABX supports the creation of KAU and KAG by ensuring that every digital unit is matched by an equivalent amount of allocated physical bullion. It played a substantial role in the early development of the Kinesis platform.
Certain ABX institutional participants (wholesalers) act as market makers for KAU and KAG on the Kinesis Exchange, providing liquidity and helping maintain relatively tight bid-ask spreads. ABX relies on a network of institutional logistics and vaulting providers to store and manage the physical bullion backing the Kinesis currencies.
Bureau Veritas, ABX’s vault auditor, independently verifies the 1:1 bullion backing of the Kinesis currencies twice a year.
