Kinesis and Yellow Card Integration

Kinesis has partnered with Yellow Card to offer deposit options for users in Nigeria and Zambia. Through the arrangement, people can send local currency and receive a USD stablecoin in their Kinesis account. The stablecoin can then be used for trading, transfers, or other platform functions.

Local Currency Support

The initial rollout covers bank transfers and mobile money in Nigeria and Zambia. These methods allow deposits without first converting funds through external exchanges. Future additions are planned to include electronic fund transfers for South African users and mobile money for Kenya. The partnership is expected to expand to additional African countries over time.

Deposit Process

From a Kinesis account or app, a user selects the local currency and chooses bank transfer or mobile money. A verified account is required. Before confirming, the screen shows the applicable fees, the exchange rate, and the exact amount of USD stablecoin that will be credited. Settlement times vary by method, ranging from immediate to as long as 48 hours.

Once the deposit settles, the funds appear as a USD stablecoin balance. That balance can be held, transferred, or used to acquire other assets available on the platform, including allocated gold and silver.

Additional Context

The Yellow Card link follows an earlier arrangement with Banxa that also expanded funding routes. Together the two integrations increase the number of local-currency entry points. A later update is expected to allow deposits directly into Currency One USD (C1USD), the platform’s own USD-linked stablecoin.

The practical effect is that users in the covered countries can fund a Kinesis account using everyday local payment rails rather than relying solely on international banking channels.
